Texel & Suffolk-cross lambs

  • Live animals

Grass-fed lowland lambs from Texel, Suffolk, Beltex and Charollais terminal sires, mostly crossed on hardy ewes such as the Mule and Lleyn. They grow up on green, rain-fed pastures, which gives well-muscled lambs with deep legs, a full loin and a high meat yield. A favourite for importers and processors that want a heavy, meaty carcass. We select the lambs to your specification and arrange inspection, certificates and transport.

Frequently asked questions

Merino or Texel-cross – which should I choose?

Texel and Suffolk crosses give a heavier, meatier carcass; Merino-type lambs are lighter, very hardy and cope better with heat and long transport. Tell us the purpose and destination and we advise.

How are live animals quoted?

Per head, based on species, breed, age or weight class, destination and transport mode. Veterinary and welfare requirements for the destination are checked before any offer is made.
